The optional prompt for Day 9 of NaPoWriMo was to write a visual poem or a calligram, where the words are arranged in a specific shape or image. I didn’t quite go in that direction but wrote a poem inspired by a painting of a landscape.
The Weavers
They wove the landscape into cloth
to wear around the world
They wove the loombeat into song
that echoed every home
They wove their hunger into hope
on a sighing leaving shore
They wove the lore into their hearts
and bore it evermore
