The optional theme for Day 5 of NaPoWriMo is to choose an Emily Dickinson poem, take out the dashes and put it into a block of prose. Then put it back into poetry form, adding or subtracting words. I struggled with this and while I really like the challenge, I simply don’t have the time at present to give it the required attention.
I have opted instead for an Easter haiku that was written as a bit of fun while I try very hard to ignore all the chocolate that is around me at the moment. I’m sure some of you can relate to that! So a few days late, here is my Day 5 poem –
Cadbury’s Creme Eggs
can call to me all they want
I will not listen
