I am attempting a haiku a day for this challenge but any forms of writing, art, photography etc are acceptable. For more information or to get involved, click here.
Day 1: A for April.
April begins damp
with fog but a warming sun
soon burns through the cloud
Gorgeous picture. Well, April is going pretty well here. Hope it’s great for you too.

Thanks David, the fog lasted just long enough for me to take some photos and then the sun came out to dry the washing, so far so good!

Excited to meet another poet and enjoyed your piece.
I’ve never written much haiku–in part because a Japanese friend says English speakers do it “so wrong” (could be he’s just a snob…). How do you bounce back from hearing your language is “wrong”? LOL. Looking forward to following your posts.

Thanks for stopping by Laurel. I’m fairly new to haiku, having been put off by a similar experience to yours. Then I attended a reading of short-form poetry from Asian languages translated into both English and Irish, read to a specially commissioned background of chamber music. I left the event feeling quite empowered and much more connected with the style.
